Marketing your life insurance agency online is a slow, steady march. It takes time to develop good content, build trust and get your site showing up well in search engines. But what happens when you don’t have time to spare? If you need leads right away, here are three strategies that help.
1. Advertise Your Site. Buying ads for your site is the easiest and most sure-fire way to drive traffic to your site quickly. Programs like Google’s Adwords and Yahoo!’s Sponsored Search let you bid on relevant search terms. Bid high enough and your ad shows up whenever someone searches for that term.
Tip: Make the words you’re bidding on as specific as possible, and track your results carefully. Bidding on general terms is not only expensive; it creates lots of traffic with few results.
2. Cross-Promote with a Related Professional. Partner with someone in a related business to cross-promote to each other’s customers and prospects. By offering each other exposure to your marketing lists, you both benefit, and you do so in a way that leverages an established, trusting relationship. Find a realtor, accountant, travel agent, lawn care specialist or really any other business professional who has potential cross-over with your market.
Tip: Rather than just adding a link to each other’s sites, guide your customers on why they should do business with the individual you are cross-promoting. Create a dedicated page on your site about them and send an e-mail out to your list explaining the benefits the other business brings.
3. Give Something Away. Rebating laws limit what you can offer your prospects in exchange for contacting you, but there are many valuable information-based downloads and services you can offer that don’t cost money. These might be a free planning service, a free e-book, a life insurance planning kit or something else. Use the giveaway to capture contact information, so you can follow up with the lead.
Tip: Create a clear call to action on your site so that it’s easy for people to access your giveaway. Make it stand out visually and with a headline that explains the value your visitor will receive from the offer.
Remember, these are all quick fixes and not long-term solutions. Use these strategies to see a surge in leads but still make sure you develop a program to implement and refine your online marketing program over the long-term.
