Social Media Boot Camp Day 15: Your Favorite Social Media Sites and Tools

Your article was successfully shared with the contacts you provided.

Producers have spoken: LinkedIn and Twitter are your favorite social media sites. But is there something we’re missing?

In the 2010 Independent Brokerage Study, conducted by ASJ’s publisher Agent Media in partnership with the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies, 26 percent of agents use LinkedIn to network with other insurance professionals, the largest percentage of any other social media site used for that task (17 percent use Facebook for networking with professionals, and 43 percent don’t use any social media tools to do this).

And when it comes to networking with clients and prospects, 24 percent of agents prefer Facebook, and 21 percent use LinkedIn.

Now, we want to know: What are your favorite social media sites, tools, clients, and features? When you use Twitter, do you use a desktop client like HootSute or TweetDeck? Do you belong to groups on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn – and how do you leverage these groups? How are you promoting yourself on social networking?

Share with us and other readers in the comment section below how social media is working for you, and build a community with other ASJ readers!
