Two benefits firms are joining forces to serve private equity firms – and private equity firm portfolio companies – in Texas.

Equity Risk Partners Inc., San Francisco, and Lipscomb & Cathey, Dallas, are forming a joint venture, ERP-Texas, that will be based in Dallas. The venture will try to profit from the increase in private eqity deals and acquisitions in Texas, organizers say.

Lipscomb is a Texas insurance broker.

Equity Risk Partners is a broker that specializes in serving private equity firms. It handles employee beneifts packages as well as property-casualty coverage and risk management services.
