Physicians Mutual names new chief financial officer

Michael J. Wade has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Physicians Mutual, Omaha, Neb., announces President and CEO Robert A. Reed.

Wade, who has more than 25 years of experience expanding organizations, has a strong background in accounting and the life insurance industry. Before joining Physicians Mutual, Wade served as partner for Wexford Partners Inc. and also held positions including president, CEO, senior vice president, secretary and treasurer for Gleaner Life Insurance Society and vice president and treasurer at Mid America Life Assurance Company.

Wade is a certified public accountant and holds the professional designation of Fellow, Life Management Institute. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1976. Wade is a member of the American Institute of CPAs as well as the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association. He has also participated in professional organizations and trade associations, such as the National Fraternal Congress of America and the Michigan Fraternal Congress.
