Robertson to Lead Indiana Department

Indiana Gov. Mitchell Daniels Jr., R, has appointed Stephen Robertson to succeed Carol Cutter as commissioner.

Cutter took medical leave earlier this year and died Sept. 6 in Indianapolis. Robertson has been serving as acting commissioner.

Robertson began working for the Indiana department in 2008 as director of the Title Insurance Division. He also has been a senior vice president at a unit of CNO Financial Group Inc., Carmel, Ind. (NYSE:CNO), and he has been general counsel in the Nebraska Department of Insurance. Earlier, he was a sergeant in the military police.

Robertson has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Nebraska.
