Baby boomers in search of help when it comes to elder care planning have a new place to go: YouTube, courtesy of Harris Private Bank. Harris announced Wednesday the launch of its Harris enCircle channel as a means of bringing information to those caring for an elderly parent or loved one.

The channel, launched on Oct. 6, presents videos, according to the company, of “client specialists, advisory board members, and external subject matter experts in the field of elder care. . . .”

Some of the segments already posted focus on creating an elder care plan, relieving caregiver guilt, how to have a family meeting, ways to avoid burnout, and how to set up the roles and responsibilities for caregivers. There’s also information on how to avoid conflicts with older parents, as well as a panel discussion on integrated health care, financial, and legal planning. New content will be uploaded regularly.

According to Dr. Eric Rackow, president and CEO of Senior Bridge, a national care management agency, "As seniors living with multiple chronic conditions represent the fastest-growing segment of our population, the act of caring for our parents as they age is perhaps the most inevitable yet least talked about complexities of our time. Harris enCircle's YouTube channel responds to the clear need for a highly personalized and unbiased approach to helping boomers navigate the intricacies of elder care to ultimately improve the quality of life of their loved ones while maintaining their own well-being."
