Tim Stonehocker and Jim Schulz join UNIFI Companies

JoAnn M. Martin, president and chief executive officer of UNIFI Companies, Lincoln, Neb., announces Tim Stonehocker, pictured on the right, and Jim Schulz, pictured on the left, are joining UNIFI Companies in vice president roles.

Stonehocker is now the executive vice president – individual and Ameritas Investment Corp. for UNIFI Companies, where he is responsible for the individual business, the broker dealer, and the field distribution for individual and retirement plans.

For 24 years, Stonehocker served in several leadership and officer roles at AEGON, including the president and CEO positions of the Life and Protection Group of AEGON, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Stonehocker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.

Schulz is the new senior vice president – retirement plans for Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. and The Union Central Life Insurance Company. Schulz is tasked with managing sales, product development, administration and service for the retirement plans business.

Schulz, who has more than 30 years of experience, began his career at Bankers Life Nebraska (Ameritas) in 1972 in actuarial and was previously the president of Midlands Financial Benefits, Lincoln. Schulz has also worked in group insurance and pension administration.

Schulz studied business administration with an concentration in actuarial science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant as well as the FINRA Series 7, 24, 51, 53 and 63 securities licenses.

Schulz sat on the state association board of directors and was the past president of the Lincoln association of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is a life and qualifying Member of Million Dollar Round Table, a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Lincoln Estate Planning Council, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Cornhusker Better Business Bureau, vice chairman of the board of directors for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital and serves on Wilber Co. Bank Holding Company board of directors.
