James PierceThe Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Horsham, Pa., has announced the recent appointment of James C. Pierce, to managing partner of its new career agency located in Wilton, Conn. This agency has been added to the Career Agency System as part of Penn Mutual’s distribution growth initiative and will have a district office in Florham Park, N.J.

Pierce has been a member of the industry for 25 years. In his most recent position as a general agent for a major life insurer, which he joined in 1984, he was a top producer, sales manager and general agent, having received numerous recognition awards for his sales leadership, production and agency growth. Among his achievements was growing a very small district office in New Canaan, Conn., into a number-one agency. He also successfully merged two offices in Connecticut and New Jersey to form a single agency that was number one in life sales for his former company.

“Jim’s many years of leadership experience and his expertise in the financial services industry will be great assets to the Penn Mutual team,” said Jonathan J. Pratt, CLF, vice president of Penn Mutual’s Career Agency System. “His past success in turning small or non-existent agencies into top sales-producing offices is very exciting for us. We welcome him to our company and look forward to working with him.”

Since joining the General Agents’ and Managers’ Association in 2007, Pierce has won GAMA’s International Diamond Award three years straight. He has earned a FINRA Series 7 license, as well as his Series 24 and 65.

Pierce graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting.
