Guardian: Small Business Owners Are Feeling Better

Your article was successfully shared with the contacts you provided.

U.S. small business owners seemed to be more optimistic about their businesses in June than they were 12 months earlier.

The Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute, an affiliate of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has reported that finding in a summary of results from a survey of 1,200 U.S. employers with 2 to 99 employees. Guardian also conducted a similar survey in 2009.

The percentage of business owners who said they expected annual revenue to be higher increased to 51% this year, from 32% in mid-2009, Guardian says.

The percentage of owners with plans to expand their businesses in the next 24 months increased to 45%, from 38%.

Owners with 10 or more employees seemed to be doing better than owners of micro businesses, Guardian says.
