Ebix Inc. has agreed to acquire USIX Technologies Inc., a South American insurance exchange company.
Ebix, Atlanta (NASDAQ:EBIX), runs AnnuityNet in the United States, and it also runs an annuity portability exchange in Brazil.
USIX, Rio de Janeiro, operates exchange systems for insurers and brokers in Brazil’s life and property-casualty markets.
Ebix is not saying how much it is paying for USIX, but it says it expects Ebix Latin America, Sao Paulo, a subsidiary of Ebix Singapore, to complete the USIX deal Tuesday.
