Welcome to the soft launch of AdvisorOne.com, a new site that the editors of Investment Advisor, Research, Wealth Manager, Boomer Market Advisor and AdvisorBiz have created to meet the news, data, analysis and networking needs of the advisors we’ve been serving for more than 30 years. We’re creating new content for you, but also aggregating and curating news and data from across the Web.

Until October 4, we’re in a soft-launch phase, similar to a beta version of an online application, and over the next few weeks we’ll be adding more features, data, news and commentary to the site, so consider this a sneak peek of the fully functional site you’ll experience in early October.

The site and the thinking behind this new project may be new, but the site is also a continuation. Much like your own practices, which have been built on the shoulders of pioneers in providing individualized advice to financial consumers, AdvisorOne.com has a firm foundation based on the experience and expertise of those editors, part of Summit Business Media’s Investment Advisory Group, and on the wisdom of our print magazine contributors like Mark Tibergien, Moshe Milevsky, Olivia Mellan, Alexei Bayer and Angie Herbers, to name but a few.

You’ll find their contributions continuing without interruption on AdvisorOne.com, along with those Web-only commentators with healthy followings like Bob Clark and Mike Patton from InvestmentAdvisor.com and Gib Watson, Gavin Morrissey and Philip Palaveev from WealthManagerWeb.com, and Matt Greenwald and Kerry Pechter of BoomerMarketAdvisor.com.

All of our existing sites—InvestmentAdvisor.com, ResearchMag.com, WealthManagerWeb.com, BoomerMarketAdvisor.com—and their expert contributors have found a new home at AdvisorOne.com. Those sites and all their archived content, and the online versions of Investment Advisor magazine and Research magazine, will be rolled into AdvisorOne.com as of October 4.

Those writers—staff and outside contributors—are joined now by a raft of new contributors who provide insight into the discrete areas of interest to advisors that are built into AdvisorOne.com’s four main channels: The Portfolio, Retirement, Wealth and The Practice. With content on each of those channels guided by our full-time editors, you’ll be able to read and view exclusive contributions in words and numbers from experts like:

  • David Tittsworth of the Investment Adviser Association explaining Washington
  • Brad Case of NAREIT on the real estate market
  • Rosanne Roge on financial gerontology
  • Denise Voigt Crawford and her colleagues at NASAA on state regulation
  • Ben Warwick of Aspen Partners and Searching for Alpha fame on investing

Those are but a few of our new contributors; others will be coming online soon, so check back to see our progressions. I’ll write more in the weeks ahead about our content aggregation and curation process, about the exclusive data we’ll provide, about our new search capabilities and social networking.
