Aegon, an international insurer, pension and investment company, announced Tuesday, September 7, that Marc Van Weede, executive vice president, will be the Global Head of Sustainability. The new post, which begins October 1, is part of the Netherlands-based company’s extension of its approach to sustainability; both sustainability and the company’s integrated approach to managing its operations are a part of its long-term strategy.
Van Weede, who will report directly to CEO Alex Wynaendts, will draw on his experience in previous Aegon positions, which have included head of group business development, president of the company’s joint venture in China, strategy, and the company’s public policy and regulatory office. He is tasked with improving the company’s sustainability performance.
