Life insurer chief financial officers (CFOs) who were willing to participate in a survey are optimistic about their companies’ prospects.

Towers Watson & Company, New York (NYSE:TW), says 60% were expecting to see growth in life and annuity premiums at their companies, and only 15% were expecting to see a decrease.

About 73% were expecting to see an increase in net income.

Towers Watson has persuaded 70 North American life company CFO to participate in an online survey program, and 14 responded to the latest survey.

The survey results bottomed out in the second quarter of 2009 and now are at the highest level since Towers Watson began conducting the life company CFO surveys in the third quarter of 2002.
