Personnel Changes: Aviva, Independence Blue, Security American, Lockton

Aviva USA has hired Christopher Welp to be executive vice president of insurance operations.

Welp has been chief operating officer at the Des Moines operations of ING Groep N.V., Amsterdam (NYSE:ING), according to Aviva USA, Des Moines, Iowa, a unit of Aviva P.L.C., London (NYSE:AV).

Welp has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Iowa.

In other personnel news:

- Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia has hired Susan Larkin to be vice president of account management.

Larkin previously was vice president at Gallagher Benefits Services, Itasca, Ill.

Larkin has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Widener University.

- Security American Financial Enterprises Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., has hired Dave Sipprell to be executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Sipprell previously worked in Chicago for a U.S. unit of Allianz A.G., Munich, Germany.

- Lockton Inc., Kansas City, Mo., has hired Steven Kjar to be a vice president and retirement plan producer in San Francisco.

Kjar previously was a regional vice president at Diversified Investment Advisors Inc., Harrison, N.Y. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Coe College. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist professional designations.
