An advisory group that helps the federal government evaluate preventive care services is looking for nominations for topics to review.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, an independent panel affiliated with the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, says it is looking for information about services that could keep healthy people healthy or identify health problems in people who have no apparent health problems.

Topic submissions are due Aug. 27.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently started using task force preventive services grades to implement PPACA preventive services benefits provisions.

If the task force gives a service high grades, federal agencies may require plans to cover the service without imposing the usual co-payment, deductible or coinsurance requirements.
