The Financial Planning Association today announced the winner of the P. Kemp Fain, Jr. Award. Tim Kochis, CFP, is director of new business lines at San Francisco-based wealth management firm Aspiriant, and chairs the Board of Directors. He served as Aspiriant’s CEO from 1991 to 2009.

The P. Kemp Fain, Jr. Award recognizes FPA members who uphold the organization’s core values of competence, integrity, relationships, and stewardship. Honorees are also chosen for contributions to the industry.

“Tim exemplifies the qualities FPA seeks in its P. Kemp Fain, Jr. Award honorees. His vision and commitment have had tremendous influence over the years and certainly has helped to bring about positive change for and within the financial planning community,” Marv Tuttle, CEO and executive director of the Financial Planning Association, said in a statement announcing the winner. “FPA is thrilled to recognize his achievements with this award.”

Kochis will be honored at the FPA’s annual conference in Denver, Oct. 9-12.
