Affluent investors and millionaires were more pessimistic about investments in July than they were in June.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index fell 4 points between June and July, to negative 16, according to Spectrem Group Inc., Chicago.

The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index remained at negative 7.

To compile the affluent investor index, Spectrem interviews 250 financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets each month. Spectrem uses a subset of the affluent decision-maker sample to come up with the millionaire index.

Spectrem is describing the July affluent investor index as being “mildly bearish” and the millionaire index as “neutral.”
