The New York State Insurance Department has created a checklist that individual and group health carriers in the state can use to comply with the new Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements.

The New York department developed the compliance checklist and a model language rider to help carriers meet the requirements set by the ACA, the legislative package that includes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

The New York PPACA compliance checklist provides a list of PPACA provisions that take effect Sept. 23 along with the section of PPACA that created the provision, the changes in federal statutes that implement the provision, and the changes in the Code of Federal Regulations that implement the revised statues.
