The health insurance arm of Trustmark Mutual Holding Company is shifting to a new pharmacy benefits manager.
Trustmark, Lake Forest Ill., says it has picked CVS Caremark Corp., Woonsocket, R.I., to provide PBM services for all Trustmark small group, large group and association fully insured and self-funded clients.
The shift took effect July.
Trustmark began using NextRx, a PBM that used to be part of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis (NYSE:WLP), in 2006, and WellPoint announced in 2008 that Trustmark had extended the NextRx PBM contract for an additional 4 years.
Express Scripts Inc., St. Louis, acquired NextRx in December 2009.
