Mercer has acquired Innovative Process Administration L.L.C.

Mercer, New York, is buying IPA, Cleveland, a benefits administration and administration technology company, to expand its benefits administration outsourcing business, Mercer says.

Mercer is a unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York (NYSE:MMC).

The companies are not saying how much Marsh is paying for IPA, but they say the business will continue to operate under the IPA name.

IPA President James Zedella will become the health and benefits mid-market business leader at Marsh, Marsh says.

Marsh already uses IPA technology in the Mercer EasyEnroll enrollment system.
