A specialty disability insurance brokerage has launched an initiative to get the attention of chiropractors.
Petersen International Underwriters Inc., Valencia, Calif., says it will continue to offer business overhead expense, buy-sell and key-person coverage as well as ordinary individual disability plans with lump-sum and monthly benefit amounts.
Rates, benefits and categories will stay the same, according to W. Harold Petersen, the president of Petersen International.
Some other firms have been increasing prices for chiropractors, reducing their benefit periods, increasing their elimination periods, or declining to cover chiropractors, Petersen says.
