CIGNA Corp. has persuaded a municipal client to offer integrated medical and dental coverage.
The city of Tucson, Ariz., has been offering health coverage from CIGNA, Philadelphia (NYSE:CI), for its 6,000 employees and retirees. The city now will be offering CIGNA dental coverage along with CIGNA medical coverage.
Combining the plans will cut the total cost of the coverage by about $600,000 per year, and Tucson employees and retirees will be able to participate in integrated wellness and condition management programs, CIGNA says.
