U.S. Trust, Atlantic Trust Hire Wealth and Portfolio Managers

U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management on Tuesday, June 8, announced the appointment of six senior-level wealth management experts, while Atlantic Trust announced the addition of a portfolio manager and a senior investment analyst to its investment team.

As part of its talent acquisition campaign in wealth management, U.S. Trust named Tom Finney as Baltimore market director; Jan Carmen as a private client advisor and Kevin Hilderman as a private client manager, both in San Diego; Kevin Ta as a market trust director and Ned Muskie as a private client advisor in the Washington, D.C.; Maryland; and Virginia markets; and Susan Gumbiner as senior portfolio manager in Houston.

Finney joins U.S. Trust from Wilmington Trust, where he spent the last eight years as managing director of the Baltimore office he helped launch in 2002. Carmen and Hilderman both came to U.S. Trust from U.S. Bank. Ta previously spent ten years with Wells Fargo Private Bank and its predecessor, Wachovia Trust, in Virginia, where he was senior vice president and senior trust and fiduciary specialist. Muskie has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry through positions at HSBC Bank, Wachovia Bank, and The Riggs National Bank. Gumbiner brings more than thirty years of industry experience, including her previous role as director and investment strategist at Citi.

Atlantic Trust announced the addition of portfolio manager Adam Karpf and senior investment analyst Clayton Santimore as part of the firm’s commitment to enhance the depth and expertise of its investment team.

Karpf, who has 11 years of industry experience, has joined senior investment manager Paul McPheeters on Atlantic Trust’s Master Limited Partnership Strategy. Based in New York, Karpf has spent the last nine years analyzing the Master Limited Partnership sector. Previously, he was head of MLP research and a portfolio manager for Magnetar Capital. Santimore joined Atlantic Trust as a senior investment analyst on the firm’s Multi-Manager Investment Program. Most recently, he was a senior portfolio analyst at Fidelity Management and Research Company.
