Golden Rule Insurance Company has introduced new dental and vision products aimed at individuals and families in Illinois and Maryland.

Golden Rule, a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc. Minnetonka, Minn. (NYSE:UNH), says the products are available to consumers of all ages, including Medicare enrollees and children.

Consumers who enroll in the plans do not have to have other UnitedHealth coverage, Golden Rule says.

Applicants will be accepted automatically if they have no other dental insurance.

Customers who buy dental coverage can add vision coverage, Golden Rule says.

Customers who buy health plans in either Illinois and Maryland now can add either dental insurance or a combination of dental insurance and vision insurance.

The products offer 100% coverage for preventive care with no deductible and no waiting period.

The products give enrollees access to the UnitedHealthcare dental and vision care networks. The dental network has contracts with 73,000 dentists, and the vision network has contracts with about 24,000 private practice and retail chain providers, Golden Rule says.
