International Business Machines Corp. has introduced the IBM Insurance Industry Framework collection of insurance software products.

The new products are designed to work well with older systems that are already in place, according to IBM, Armonk, N.Y.

Information technology staffers can use the rules and workflow automation features in the products to develop customer self-service systems and other new, customized systems, IBM says.

The framework collection includes IBM's existing WebSphere, Rational, Tivoli, Lotus and Information Management products along with IBM server and storage products, IBM says.
