Insurer Changes Name

The shareholders of the company formerly known as Conseco Inc. (NYSE:CNO) have approved a move to change the name of the company to CNO Financial Group Inc.

Shareholders at the annual meeting of CNO, Carmel, Ind., also approved the company's 2010 pay and performance plan and approved an amendment to the certificate of incorporation that deals with the value of net operating losses, the company says.

CNO will continue to use the names Bankers Life, Colonial Penn and Washington National for its major operating insurance operating companies, the company says.
