An insurer that has focused on selling health insurance to older Americans has started marketing a cancer insurance policy designed for people of all ages.

Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company, League City, Texas, a unit of American National Insurance Company, Galveston, Texas, says it will sell the new Resolutions specified disease coverage product directly to individuals.

The company also will sell the product, which protects customers against the cost of cancer and associated cancerous conditions, through business-sponsored worksite coverage programs.

Customers can add the product as a supplement to any private or public health coverage, Standard Life says.
