An agent from Appleton, WI asks….

Q: How do Medicare Advantage policies coordinate benefits with seniors who also have VA benefits?

A: Just as original Medicare coordinates with a VA benefit, so does the Medicare Advantage plan. Keep in mind that every benefit in Part A and Part B must be a covered benefit in Medicare Part C. The difference may be that a Medicare Advantage plan may include some extra benefits like dental, vision, and hearing. Dental, vision, and hearing benefits are rarely covered by the VA, making Part C an attractive offer for many veterans.
