Columbus Life Insurance Company has shortened its life insurance application and also streamlined life policy tracking, back-office and delivery processes.
A member of Western & Southern Financial Group, Cincinnati, Ohio, the carrier is seeking to increase speed to issue and to make doing business easier for producers.
The application as “much shorter” than before, the company says.
Other changes include:
- Acceptance of faxed or electronically transmitted forms without originals or special consent forms
- More competitive underwriting for certain medical histories, including breast cancer, diabetes, heart rhythm disorders, mood disorders, and valvular heart disorders
- Twice weekly status e-mail updates for outstanding requirements
- Overnight mailing of all policies
