About half of the employers that offer any voluntary benefits offer at least two.

Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA Inc., Chicago, a unit of Wells Fargo & Company, San Francisco (NYSE:WFC), has published that figure in a summary of results from a recent survey of about 320 U.S. employers.

Use of voluntary benefits appears to be growing both as a result of benefits cost increases and increasing interest in the voluntary benefits concept, according to Wells Fargo Insurance.

About 27% of the employers have added accident, cancer, and critical illness insurance, Wells Fargo says.
