StanCorp Equities Inc. has hired 4 pension consultants.

StanCorp Equities, a unit of StanCorp Financial Group Inc., Portland, Ore. (NYSE:SFG), has hired Danae Cranley for the San Francisco retirement plan sales office, Chris Malchin for the Chicago office, Ken Mergen for the Philadelphia office, and Tem Miller for the Atlanta office.

In other personnel news:

- Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America, Pittsfield, Mass., a unit of Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has hired Carl Amick to be vice president, pricing and underwriting policy.

Amick previously was vice president, disability risk management operations, at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee.

Amick has a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College. He holds the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries professional designation.

- Farmers Life Insurance Company, Seattle, a unit of Zurich Financial Services Ltd., Zurich, has promoted Brian Fitzpatrick to vice president, life sales, from executive director of life sales.

Fitzpatrick has a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University.
