Principal Financial Contributes To Earthquake Relief

A Midwestern carrier has donated money to aid earthquake relief efforts in Chile.

Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa (NYSE: PFG), says it has pledged the equivalent of about $250,000 USD for the efforts to relieve the suffering caused by the Feb. 27 earthquake.

Principal is making the donation through the Chilean Red Cross and Hogar de Cristo, a Chilean disaster relief group.

Principal Financial has had operations in Chile since 1995 and now employs about 300 employees in the country.
