The Life Insurance Settlement Association and the European Life Settlement Association have wrapped up their first International Life Settlement Trade Mission, an effort to spur international interest in the secondary life insurance market.
Opening in London, with stops in Luxembourg and Zurich, the 4-day event included “open, frank, and forward-looking discussions” by U.S. life settlement experts and European investors, according to a statement from LISA, Orlando, Fla.
“Investors understand that the potential for future growth is extraordinary but must be tempered by wise regulatory policies and best practices on both sides of the pond,” commented Doug Head, LISA executive director. “The trade mission raised this key awareness, and it’s now our job to drive the point home in our respective governing bodies.”
The mission drew an opening London crowd of 150, according to LISA.
