A well-known insurance underwriter recently helped sponsor a major gathering of boats.
Petersen International Underwriters Inc., Valencia, Calif., was one of the major backers when the San Diego Yacht Club led 43 motor yachts to La Paz, Mexico, for the Fleet Underway, Baja Rally.
The FUBAR participants ferried in supplies and medical equipment for Baja California communities hit the recent hurricanes.
In addition to helping to sponsor the event, Petersen provided insurance coverages such as medical insurance, disability insurance or kidnap insurance for a majority of the participating yacht owners, the firm reports.
