Where is the LameStream Media?

Former CBS News reporter Bernie Goldberg (his book “Bias” is a great read) recently coined the term “LameStream Media.” It seems especially apt today. Due to their inability to climb out of the Obama campaign tank, you’ve not likely heard of the November 18th letter that Douglas Elmendorf, Director of the Congressional Budget Office sent to the “Honorable” (their honorific, not mine) Harry Reid.

Despite the rosy pronunciations being made by the Democrats in Congress, the CBO (in conjunction with the Joint Committee of Taxation) has found that by 2019, taxpayers will pay $196 billion a year for ObamaCare and that it will leave 24 million Americans “uninsured.” I confess – I am not sure what “uninsured” will mean once the insurance companies are crowded out by the government and their tilted playing field. What I am sure of is that the LameStream Media is too busy fawning over the same kind of wondrous predictions that were ascribed to Medicare, before it went over budget mere years after its enactment.

Anyone who has ever run a household budget knows that there is no “secret sauce” here. With “x” amount of money and “y” amount of folks who will consume “z” amount of services, something will have to give somewhere. Jeesh, even John and Kate know that it costs more to feed eight babies than it does to feed one. Congress with a reality TV show – that’s such an oxymoron the LameStream media would HAVE to report on.
