The Virginia Retirement System has agreed to use Genworth Financial Inc. to provide long term care insurance for the state’s government workers.
The VRS will offer the coverage through an employee-paid, voluntary group insurance plan, according to Genworth, Richmond, Va.
The program will be open to is open to all VRS members, retirees and their families, and it also will be open to employees of Virginia local governments that do not offer other VRS programs, Genworth says.
Genworth’s Genworth Life Insurance Company unit is underwriting the plan.
