AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company is offering new cell phone applications aimed at women seeking help with financial decisions.

The free apps are designed for Apple Inc.’s iPhone and iTouch and provide women ready access to financial calculators to help them keep track of financial objectives for retirement and college savings, according to AXA Equitable, New York, a division of AXA S.A., Paris.

The company released the iPhone programs as part of its education program, The AXA Equitable Connection: Women, Wealth and Wisdom. The programs can be downloaded through iTunes.

AXA Equitable says it plans to offer additional consumer iPhone apps soon, including programs for calculating life expectancy, how long retirement savings may last and how much life insurance to buy.
