The question was: Which of the following organizations opposed the new law in California, S.B. 98, regulating life settlements and imposing a state ban on stranger-originated life insurance policies?
a) California Life Settlement Association
b) Life Insurance Settlements Association
c) Coventry First L.L.C.
d) American Council of Life Insurers
The answer is: a, the California Life Settlement Association. According to a lobbyist for the group, the association believes the law is weak in its requirements that life insurers notify policy holders that life settlements are an alternative to lapsing or surrendering their policies.
