Tech Bits: Sircon, Lincoln National, Transcend

A unit of Vertafore Inc. has released the latest version of its Sircon for Carriers Platform system.

Sircon, Okemos, Mich., a subsidiary of Vertafore, Bothell, Ga., says the system, which can help insurers with producer lifecycle management and compliance, now includes tools for appointing and terminating large groups of producers at the same time, using spreadsheets.

Basic producer data, such as addresses and licenses, can be created or verified using the Producer Database, Sircon says.

In other insurance technology news:

- The insurance solutions/group protection division of Lincoln National Corp., Radnor, Pa., (NYSE:LNC) has added Web tools for group life and disability products.

Customers can use the tools to submit evidence of insurability, Lincoln says.

The new tools also can give employers a status report on pending applications.

- Transcend Technologies Group Inc., Elk Grove, Calif., which does business as benefitsCONNECT, says the benefitsCONNECT system now can connect more smoothly with the Colonial Life Harmony enrollment system.

Employees at employers with the benefitsCONNECT system now can connect with the Harmony system to buy life, disability and other products from Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, Columbia, S.C., a unit of Unum Group Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn.
