ACLI Chairman-Elect Gets New Role At Nationwide

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company has named Mark Thresher chief financial officer.

Thresher, who has been president of the Nationwide Financial unit at Nationwide, Columbus, Ohio, is also the chairman-elect of the American Council of Life Insurers, Washington.

Kirt Walker, who has been president of Nationwide Insurance, a property-casualty business, will become president of Nationwide Financial, Nationwide says.

Larry Hilsheimer, Nationwide’s CFO, will become president of Nationwide Direct & Customer Solutions, a unit that oversees the company’s call-center based sales units. He will be in charge of Nationwide Better Health as well as Nationwide Bank and customer service.

Thresher, who has worked Nationwide since 1996, spent 18 years working as an accountant at KPMG L.L.P., New York. He is president of the Association of Ohio Life Insurance Companies, Columbus, Ohio.

Walker has been working for Nationwide since 1986, and Hilsheimer has been with the company since 2007.

Before Hilsheimer began working for Nationwide, he was a managing partner in charge of the Columbus office of Deloitte & Touche USA L.L.P.
