Prudential Financial Inc. says it wants to keep its life insurance business in Korea but might part with investment and fund management businesses in that country.

Prudential, Newark, N.J., is “currently exploring options with regard to” the Korean investment businesses, the company says.

Prudential could end up selling Prudential Investments & Securities Company Ltd., Seoul, or Prudential Asset Management Company Ltd., Seoul, or both, the company says.

The Prudential life business in Korea, which is not involved in the exploration of options, is the Prudential Life Insurance Company of Korea Ltd., Seoul.
