Most Americans continue to believe that life insurance is a relatively affordable necessity, according to market analysts at Prudential Financial Inc.

The analysts at Prudential, Newark, N.J., are basing that conclusion on results from an online poll conducted in June and July.

About 93% of the consumers who participated in the poll said they consider life insurance a “must,” and 84% said they view the cost of life insurance as relatively low compared with other household expenses, the Prudential analysts report.

The analysts found that 95% of the survey participants understand that life insurance could be more expensive to buy when they get older.
