B-D Siblings Merge

A West Coast financial services firm has completed previously announced plans to absorb a sister company.

Transamerica Financial Advisors Inc., Los Angeles, closed on a merger with InterSecurities Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla. Both companies are part of AEGON N.V., The Hague, Netherlands.

The combined entity will keep the Transamerica Financial name and continue to be a full-service, independent broker-dealer, Transamerica Financial says. The entity has has 1,700 registered representatives, $16 billion in client accounts, and headquarters in St. Petersburg.
