Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company is seeing signs that participants in the retirement plans it administers are feeling better about the stock market.

In the second quarter of the year, plan participants had about 39% of their assets in stocks and stock investment options, and 32% in stable-value options. In the first quarter, participants had 36% of their assets in stable-value options and just 35% in stocks, according to MassMutual, Springfield, Mass.

Call center volume has come back to normal, and only 0.24% of plan participants have taken out policy loans.

About 90% of participants held their savings rate steady in the second quarter, and 2.1% increased their deferral rate.
