The National Committee for Quality Assurance has added a health price access indicator to the new edition of Quality Compass.
The NCQA, Washington, is a group that develops and runs systems for measuring and tracking health plan quality. The Quality Compass 2009 database provides information about clinical performance and patient experience at 415 commercial health plans with 94 million enrollees.
This year, the NCQA has started including information about how easily plan enrollees say they can get information about the cost of health care services, health care equipment and prescription drugs. The NCQA also has added an indicator that reflects enrollees use of prescription drugs to handle chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
