Members of the House of Representatives have passed a veterans caregiver support bill by a voice vote.
H.R. 3155, the Caregiver Assistance and Resource Enactment Act, would provide educational sessions and access to a caregiver support website for friends and relatives who are caring for injured military veterans.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Michael Michaud, D-Maine, also would make counseling and mental health services available to the caregivers, according to officials at the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
The Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee is now considering the bill.
