Sun Life Financial Inc. plans to expand the global investment and distribution programs at its MFS Investment Management unit.
MFS already has extensive global distribution capabilities, and that has helped lead to strong net sales growth this year, according to Sun Life, Toronto.
MFS will be hiring investment management employees, especially in areas such as emerging markets stock analysis, quantitative analysis, and tactical asset allocation, Sun Life says.
MFS also will be hiring relationship management, dealer relations and sales reps to support the expansion in global retail and institutional distribution efforts.
Sun Life expects to invest about $50 million in updating MFS information systems to support the expansion.
