Aetna Inc. is offering a Web-based decision-making tool to make it easy for employees to choose key benefits.

Aetna Personal Benefits Advisor, an online decision tool, can lead employees in steps to decisions about their health care and other benefits available from Aetna, Hartford.

The on-line site, developed for Aetna by the Jellyvision Lab Inc., Chicago, has 3 modules. The first helps employees choose a medical and dental plan that fit their requirements. Another component helps them decide how much life and disability insurance they will need. A third module is devoted to choosing other available benefits, including pharmacy, employee assistance programs services and offers online personal health records and other services.

Aetna says it tested the Personal Benefits Advisor with a number of customers over the last 9 month, including the Federal government. Employees in the test rated it highly on helpfulness, the company says.
