Dr. Ronald Leopold has published The Benefits Edge: Honing The Competitive Value of Employee Benefits.
The book talks about strategies employers can use to control costs while doing more to meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
Leopold, vice president of MetLife institutional business at a unit of MetLife Inc., New York, describes a systematic strategy for making benefits decisions. He classifies employers as being traditional, standard, flexible or progressive, and he says each type can take its own approach to encouraging healthier lifestyles, giving employees the information they need to feel more in control, addressing the needs of diverse employees; and working to improve employees’ everyday quality of life in ways that will increase workers’ loyalty, and productivity.
