OptumHealth Inc. and American Well Corp. are teaming up to provide access to doctors and other health care providers through the Internet.

The service will give employers, group plan members, and holders of individual health policies access to health care professionals through two-way video, online chat or an employer’s health portal, according to OptumHealth, Golden Valley, Minn., and American Well, Boston,

OptumHealth is a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.

CIGNA International, a unit of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, has posted several international health care podcasts.

The podcasts cover global health trends and topics of interest to expatriate employees who are choosing international coverage, CIGNA says.

- The NavGate Technologies division of CareQuest Inc., Madison, Wis., says its CareOptions OnLine database can help employers comply with new Equal Employment Opportunity Commission caregiver rights guidelines.

The EEOC is recommending that employers “provide support, resource, and/or referral services that offer caregiver related information to employees.”

The NavGate COOL database provides information about providers, help with developing care plans, cost estimation tools, information about caregiver support resources, and tools individuals can use to determine how caregiving will affect their resources, NavGate says.

- Anthem Blue Cross California, a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, will now make a procedure-specific health price database available in 15 more counties.

The move will increase the number of Californians with access to the tool to 7.3 million, from 1 million, Anthem Blue says.
